Greg and Karen are in town. I was an idiot and thought they were coming next week, but it didn’t really matter because i didn’t have any plans anyway. We just hang out and talked over breakfast, and later over dinner and at a bar. They’re really happy together. I’m glad he found someone really sweet and cool. Their wedding should be fun to go to, even if i have to use up my 4th of July weekend. However, it won’t be as interesting as Justin and Linda’s wedding. Joanna is going to be there, most likely with her boyfriend, so it should be pretty fucking weird. Anyway, i’m going to see Greg and Karen tomorrow for dinner, which will be fun.
I just talked to Viet and found out Billy is getting married. It doesn’t surprise me, considering he’s been with Amy for 7 years or so. The funny thing is, everyone from my group of friends thought that i would get married first, then Richmond and Melissa, then Viet, and lastly Billy. Now it’s looking like it’ll go in reverse order. Dave wasn’t really included in that mix, but he’ll probably be married before me as well. I know Jordan will be, for sure.
I saw I <3 Huckabees today and it was frickin’ hilarious. It was random as hell, but very intelligent, and very philosophical, mainly focusing on the meaning of life.
Are we all connected with everything in the universe because we are all made of the same matter, or is everything just random chaos and the connections we have are just pure coincidence? It is nearly impossible to define exactly where one being or event ends and another begins, so that would mean everything is interconnected. However, if you have an infinite number of beings and events, there will no doubt be connections and relationships just by chance. If you search for connections, you will of course find them, and if you don’t want to, you won’t see them, so in the end, it’s all about finding out what you believe.
I have seen too many connections to attribute everything to coincidence. Maybe it’s the optimist in me, but i think that everyone and everything is bound together. We are all made of the same matter, being recycled over and over again. Yes, there may be coincidences, but even in those coincidences, meaning can be found. I believe everything does happen for a reason. The reason might be very simple, like: an apple fell from a tree because of the gravitational force pulling on it. For the most part, things happen for very complicated reasons, based on a long chain of events. If you can pick out the key points from those series of events, then you can learn to adapt yourself to have a life worth living…
I hope this all makes sense in the morning.
